The CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual Support unit equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This nationally recognised course is essential for anyone who may be required to respond to breathing or cardiac emergencies—whether in the workplace, at home, or in the community.
Through a mix of theoretical instruction and practical hands-on training, students will learn how to assess a casualty, deliver effective CPR, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and follow infection control procedures.
This course is suitable for people in a wide range of roles and industries and is a requirement in many workplaces.

The Safe Work Australia Model Code of Practice: The Australian Resuscitation Council and Safe Work Australia recommend that CPR training (HLTAID009) be renewed every 12 months. Additionally, ensure compliance with any relevant industry specific standards and guidelines.

Entry Requirements
To enrol in HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, students must:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Possess basic English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills
Have basic computer literacy (for online learning)
Provide a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Be physically capable of performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin placed on the floor.
