Course Overview

The CHC22015 – Certificate II in Community Services entry-level qualification is ideal for those beginning their journey in the community services sector. It provides foundational skills to work within a community framework and support clients from diverse backgrounds.

Course Structure & Units of Study

This qualification includes 9 units of competency which comprises of 5 core and 4 elective units. Total number of units: 9

  • 5 core units
  • 4 elective units, consisting of:
    • at least 2 units from the electives listed below
    • up to 2 units from the electives listed below, any endorsed Training Packages or accredited courses – these units must be relevant to the work outcome

All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

  • CHCCOM001 - Provide first point of contact
  • CHCCOM005 - Communicate and work in health or community services
  • CHCDIV001 - Work with diverse people
  • HLTWHS001 - Participate in workplace health and safety
  • BSBPEF202 - Plan and apply time management
Elective units:
CHCCDE019 Work within a community development framework
CHCVOL001 Be an effective volunteer
CHCDIV002 Promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety
CHCPRT025 Identify and report children and young people at risk

Course Delivery Mode

  • Blended Learning (Combination of online modules and face to face practical assessments)

To enrol in CHC22015 – Certificate II in Community Services, students must:

  • Valid and current email address
  • NDIS Check, National Police Check
  • Working with Children Check or
  • Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Manual Handling
  • Infection Control 

Study Commitment

  • Students are required to complete a minimum of 1 unit/month or as directed by your training plan.  
  • Students will need to undertake a pre-determined number of hours of training per month to complete both the theory and practical elements of the qualification.
